Text to image
Describe a character, scene, object, or palette direction and choose the model that fits your idea.
Generate a pixel-art starting point from words or a reference image, then bring it into a real CraftGrid workbench where width, palette, and individual cells stay under your control.
AI PIXEL WORKBENCH
Generate once, refine locally, export when ready.
A complete AI-to-grid workflow
CraftGrid keeps the AI step separate from the local craft step. Choose a model and generate once, then experiment with pixel width, maximum colors, color mood, and manual cell edits without changing the prompt or spending another generation.
Describe a character, scene, object, or palette direction and choose the model that fits your idea.
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP reference, then add an instruction to transform it into pixel art.
Normalize the result locally, adjust width and colors, then paint individual cells in the familiar CraftGrid editor.
Download the generated image or the finished pixel grid after your manual edits are complete.
AI generation is restricted to the administrator while models, safety checks, and billing are being tested.
The supported image models remain available for comparison; CraftGrid does not claim a single best model.
How to get a cleaner result
Describe the silhouette. Mention the subject, camera angle, background simplicity, hard edges, limited palette, and the intended pixel-art mood.
Use Image to Image for continuity. A reference image helps preserve a character, composition, or color relationship while your prompt explains the transformation.
Tune after generation. Pixel width and maximum colors are intentionally placed in the result editor. They are not hidden prompt knobs and do not trigger another paid AI request.
What happens next
The result is normalized in your browser into a hard-edged grid with an adaptive palette. Open the pixel editor to correct stray cells, simplify colors, or redraw a small detail.
Download the original generated image in a new tab when you need it, or download the edited grid when you are ready to use it in a craft project.
The external AI service handles the generation request. CraftGrid’s local pixelization and grid editing happen after the result is returned.
More grid tools
Use CraftGrid’s browser-based converters when you want image-to-grid editing without an AI generation step.
Yes. Switch to Image to Image, upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP reference, and add an instruction. A generated result can also be prepared as the next editing reference.
No. They are local normalization controls applied after generation. Changing them does not change your prompt or start another AI request.
Yes. The generated image is converted into the same editable pixel grid used by CraftGrid’s other tools. You can paint, erase, fill, replace colors, undo, redo, and download the edited grid.
Only the CraftGrid administrator can generate while this early-access workflow is being tested. The page is public for discovery and documentation, but public generation is not enabled.
The NSFW provider and public payment flow are not enabled yet. Requests are processed by an external AI service, so do not upload confidential source material.
